This does <\/span><b>not <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">require <\/span><b>prior recognition <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your professional qualifications in Germany. <\/span><b>You can <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have your <\/span><b>professional qualifications <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">officially recognised <\/span><b>after entering the country<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This is made possible by, among other things, a <\/span><b>written contract <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">between employer and applicant.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>recognition partnership <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is part of the &#8220;experience pillar&#8221; in the area of skilled labour immigration. It offers <\/span><b>foreign skilled workers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from non-EU countries a new opportunity to combine professional practice with the recognition procedure in Germany. The <\/span><b>residence permit <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for a recognition partnership is linked to an agreement between employee and employer. If you do <\/span><b>not yet <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have a <\/span><b>permanent job<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can apply for the <\/span><b>Opportunity Card. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Opportunity Card allows you to <\/span><b>stay in Germany for one year <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to look for a suitable job. <\/span><b>Part-time jobs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">up to 20 hours a week are permitted, as well as <\/span><b>two-week trial jobs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aimed at vocational training or qualified employment.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>How recognising foreign qualifications works with the recognition partnership<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the <\/span><b>post-recognition procedure, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as a foreign skilled worker you are allowed to take up employment immediately after entering Germany. <\/span><b>Recognising foreign qualifications <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is greatly simplified thanks to &#8220;post-qualification&#8221;. The <\/span><b>basic requirement for <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the recognition partnership is a permanent <\/span><b>employment contract <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with your future employer and a <\/span><b>written declaration under private law<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Instead of an employment contract, a concrete <\/span><b>job offer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aimed at qualified employment is also valid. In the declaration under private law, which ideally forms <\/span><b>part of the employment contract, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">skilled worker and the employer must state that they will start the <\/span><b>recognition procedure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">without delay. In addition, the employer must affirm that the job is at <\/span><b>&#8220;skilled worker level&#8221;. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to apply for the<\/span><b> recognition partnership,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you need sufficient <\/span><b>German language skills at language level A2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>Which residence permit do I need for a recognition partnership?<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the <\/span><b>recognition partnership <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you need a <\/span><b>legal residence permit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which you must apply for in advance at the <\/span><b>competent Foreigners&#8217; Registration Office or the foreign mission <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of your country. In addition, the <\/span><b>Federal Employment Agency <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must approve the recognition partnership (unless employment regulations exclude this).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>duration of your stay is initially limited to one year <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so that the recognition procedure is carried out as quickly as possible. If you provide <\/span><b>proof <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the ongoing recognition procedure, the <\/span><b>duration of stay <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be <\/span><b>extended to a total of three years. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This primarily benefits foreign skilled workers who want to have their <\/span><b>vocational qualification checked for equivalence. The Federal Employment Agency <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must expressly agree to an extension of the stay. If you have successfully completed the post-qualification, you must apply for <\/span><b>another residence title <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the competent Foreigners&#8217; Registration Office that is not linked to the recognition partnership.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>Which recognition body can I contact?<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must cover the <\/span><b>costs of the recognition procedure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">yourself. The <\/span><b>Central Office for Foreign Education (ZBA) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a suitable recognition body. This office will promptly check whether you have either a <\/span><b>professional qualification <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with two years of vocational training or a foreign university degree. <\/span><b>Certificates of graduation serve as proof<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Furthermore, you must submit important documents such as your passport and future employment contract with a declaration under private law (between you and the employer). As a <\/span><b>foreign professional, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you can always apply to the <\/span><b>ZBA, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">regardless of whether you are applying for the <\/span><b>recognition partnership <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(at the Foreigners&#8217; Registration Office or the foreign representation of your country).<\/span><\/p><p><b>Important: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your professional qualification must be recognised by the state in which you completed the training. A <\/span><b>vocational qualification<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">considered <\/span><b>&#8220;state-recognised&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if it is based on state legislation and has been awarded by an authorised person. It can be vocational training or a university degree.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>This applies to employers<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employers seeking a <\/span><b>recognition partnership <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a foreign skilled worker must meet <\/span><b>certain requirements. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These include being able to provide vocational training or a &#8220;post-qualification&#8221;. You can <\/span><b>prove <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your suitability if you have been registered in the <\/span><b>apprenticeship register of your chamber in the <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">last three years, for example. <\/span><b>Training providers, apprenticeship and training workshops <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and other companies must <\/span><b>also <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prove their suitability in this regard. In addition to an <\/span><b>employment contract <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or a concrete (qualified) job offer, you must submit a <\/span><b>written agreement together <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with the applicant. In this agreement, you undertake to carry out the <\/span><b>recognition procedure as quickly as possible <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and to offer the <\/span><b>applicant <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a qualified job. The <\/span><b>Federal Employment Agency <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must approve the recognition partnership.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3><strong><b>Employment with recognition partnership<\/b><\/strong><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>residence permit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> obtained via a recognition partnership entitles you to perform work for which there is a <\/span><b>concrete job offer. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Federal Employment Agency <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must agree to the occupation. In addition, you are allowed to look for a <\/span><b>part-time job of up to 20 hours a week<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Applicants and employers can thus coordinate flexibly and, for example, also agree on part-time employment.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>Exemptions for regulated professions<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you wish to pursue <\/span><b>employment in a regulated profession <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(nursing, engineering, teaching), you must first apply for a <\/span><b>professional practice permit from the Federal Employment Agency. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><b>does<\/b> <b>away with the regulation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that you have to prove a job offer or an employment contract for qualified employment. Foreign skilled workers must have a <\/span><b>vocational qualification that is recognised in <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the country where the training was completed. In addition, employers and applicants must submit a <\/span><b>written agreement in <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which they promise to initiate the <\/span><b>recognition procedure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">immediately after entry.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>legal residence permit for <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a recognition partnership is valid for <\/span><b>one year <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and can be extended to <\/span><b>up to three years.
